It sets out the framework for action of the European Social Fund (ESF), the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Cohesion Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, and, in particular, their thematic objectives, the principles and rules of their programming, monitoring and evaluation, and their management and control. It repeals Council Regulation (EC) No. 1081/2006.
