The objective of the call is to open a period for the proposal and selection of the proposed operations that address the five urban challenges (economic, environmental, climate, demographic, and social) affecting urban areas and promote links between urban and rural areas, in accordance with Article 7 of the FEDER Regulation (Regulation (EU) No. 1301/2013, of December 17, 2013).

The thematic objectives addressed by the DUSI Strategy “Ciudad Única, La Rinconada 2022” (La Rinconada, Unique City 2022) and the corresponding expenditure and assigned aid amounts are as follows:

• Axis 12: OT2.: Improving access, use, and quality of information and communication technologies, with a total expenditure of €633,120 and an assigned FEDER aid of €506,496.
• Axis 12: OT4.: Promoting the transition to a low-carbon economy in all sectors, with a total expenditure of €1,498,080 and an assigned FEDER aid of €1,198,464.
• Axis 12: OT6.: Conserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency, with a total expenditure of €1,795,200 and an assigned FEDER aid of €1,436,160.
• Axis 12: OT9.: Promoting social inclusion and combating poverty, with a total expenditure of €2,073,600 and an assigned FEDER aid of €1,658,400.
• Axis 13: Technical management and communication assistance for the DUSI Strategy, with a total expenditure of €250,000 and an assigned FEDER aid of €200,000.

The Strategy is articulated around the slogan “LA RINCONADA, UNA CIUDAD ÚNICA” (LA RINCONADA, UNIQUE CITY 2022), identifying five priority challenges to address in the coming years, which reinforce territorial unity and resolve social and identity cohesion:

• Challenge 1: La Rinconada, a sustainable town
• Challenge 2: La Rinconada, a smart town
• Challenge 3: La Rinconada, an inclusive town
• Challenge 4: La Rinconada, a city to live in
• Challenge 5: La Rinconada, a city to invest in
